SEI Project: 36th Street Closure

36th Street, west of 6th Avenue April 19, 2017

On Thursday, April 20, 2017, the contractor will begin work to install a 54-inch steel casing to accommodate the 36-inch sewer pipe under 6th Avenue (jack and bore operation) at its intersection with 36th Street. In order to accommodate the extensive excavation required to complete the work, 36th Street, west of the 6th Avenue intersection, will be closed. The jack and bore operation will be followed by open trench excavation to complete the installation of 36-inch sewer pipe between the Union Pacific Rail Road and 6th Avenue. Work is expected to be completed near the 36th Street and 6th Avenue intersection by mid-July 2017.
